I'm pretty sure you're well versed with most of these tracks. Thanks to Todd Grundy who helped me out, I was able to procure the album version of Do I Do complete with Dizzy Gillespie on trumpet and Stevie having a blast. Thanks to an informal poll, Spirits In The Material World was chosen to be the featured track by The Police in the mix. Karin Jones, one of the many vocalists who is virtually unknown, is featured this week with her track Here I Go Again, and the amazingly talented Fonzi Thornton is also in the mix with Sha 'n' Da (Happy Love Song).
As usual, there's a little more in the podcast, so if you're so inclined, download and take a listen. Quite a few people are mentioned. Also, if you have any request, please don't hesitate to drop me a line at ejflavors at gmail dot com. Take it light!
My apologies Technical difficulties with my webhost prevented this to come up at midnight. Here we go:

Nothing needs to be said about Right In The Socket, one of the hits from Shalamar- this time with Jody singing lead. Sister Sledge's If You Really Want Me leads into Heatwave's rap-infused Lettin' It Loose. Next up, there's Michael Wycoff (remember Tell Me Love and I'll Be Looking Up To You?)with Do It To Me Baby.
The O'Jay's splendid hit Give The People What They Want leads into Chic's MMFTCF. Once you hear the song, it will be pretty obvious what the initials stand for, and cause you to groove as well. It comes from the album Chic-Ism. After 7's Can't Stop leads into Kenny G's splendid Hi, How You Doin'. These tracks lead into Level 42 and Michael Franks When Sly Calls.
Joe Sample with Take 6 come back at you with U Turn, Amy Keys slides in with Someone's Gonna Fall In Love, Adeva keeps the groove with So Right, and we end the set with Junior's underappreciated track If Ever.

This is quite possibly one of my better ones of the year, in my opinion, despite my voiceovers. Here we go:

I spend my spare time extolling on the virtues of Twitter, which has been a great experience of me and provides good vibes. This mix is based on the music that has been talked about and suggested by the Twitizens, as I like to call us. If you want to know what I'm doing day to day, check out my Twitter vibe and/or look to the right, which has updates of what's going on with me. Now...
Sharon, Michael, and Teena lead the way into Nights (Feel Like Getting Down), a Billy Ocean track which was suggested by a few of the Twitizens. Alexander has always been on the of the favorites, has Atlantic Starr's Circles. The instrumental The Mood continues the pace and brings us into Incognito's DO Right from the Positivity LP. Amel and Bryce continue the vibe with Angel, continuing into Chante's Mood, produced by Jam and Lewis.
One of the underappreciated acts from the early 90s, The Wooten Brothers, continues the vibe with Tell Me, while Dee Dee Wilde's Lap of Luxury and Glenn Jones' At Last slow us down right into Patti and Luther, who round out the set.
The podcast goes into a little more detail, and is actually okay despite my voice (I'm my worst critic). Shoutouts go to Randy, Liz, and many others who are mentioned in the podcast, so check it out.
Take it light.
In light of the VH1 Hip Hop Honors, which varied from very entertaining to....well, not so much, the masses (by popular vote) have requested a New Jack Swing old school tribute. Now following in the footsteps of number one, number two, number three, and number four, I give you:
Old School Wednesday: New Jack Swing, Volume 5.

01 - Guy - I Like
02 - Heavy D & The Boyz - We Got Our Own Thang
03 - The Wooten Brothers - I'll Wait
04 - Timmy Gatling - Concentrate On You
05 - Ready for the World - My Girly
06 - Kool Moe Dee - Wild Wild West
07 - Johnny Gill - Rub You The Right Way
08 - Guy - Teddy's Jam
09 - Al B. Sure - Off on Your Own (Girl)
10 - The Gyrlz - Jam Jam (If You Can)
11 - En Vogue - You Dont Have To Worry
12 - Janet Jackson - Alright
13 - Groove Theory - Ride
14 - Kiss the Sky - Living for You
This is how it went down. I Like has been used before in a previous NJS entry, but due to the Teddy Riley tribute and multiple requests, the song has been placed as the starting track. We Got Our Own Thang logically follows, with beats provided by no other than DJ Eddie F. The Wooten Brothers' I'll Wait is one of the most overlooked tracks, as is their solid album, Try My Love. Timmy's Concentrate on You follows, with Ready For The World and Kool Moe Dee continuing the New Jack onslaught.
Johnny Gill's popular track, Rub You The Right Way continues the vibe, as does Teddy's Jam, one of the instrumentals that is included on each Guy album. Al B. Sure and The Gyrlz follow with jams accentuated by Kyle West. These tracks lead iinto You Don't Have To Worry, from En Vogue's debut album Born To Sing.
Janet's Alright is followed by one of the mellow tracks on Groove Theory's album, spiced by Amel Larrieux's signature voice and Bryce Wilson's groove. This is capped off with Kiss The Sky's Living for You, again brought by vocals from Jaki Graham and the rhythmic skills of Paul Hardcastle.

01 - George Duke - I Want You For Myself
02 - Yarbrough & Peoples - Guilty
03 - Bernard Edwards - Your Love Is Good To Me
04 - Ray Parker, Jr. - For Those Who Like to Groove
05 - Greg Phillinganes - Behind the Mask
06 - Kathy Mathis - Late Nite Hour
07 - Kashif - Say Something Love
08 - Will Downing - In My Dreams
09 - 52nd Street - Never Give Up on You
10 - Atlantic Starr - When Love Calls
11 - Jonathan Butler - Sarah Sarah
12 - Vesta Williams - You Make Me Want To (Love Again)
13 - Force M.D.'s - Tender Love
14 - Michael Henderson - You Are My Starship
15 - LTD Featuring Jeffrey Osborne - Stranger
We start off with George Duke's I Want You For Myself, a stellar track sung by Lynn Davis. Yarbrough & Peoples' track Guilty continues with the ongoing vibe, leading right into Chic's bass man, Bernard Edwards, with a great track entitled Your Love Is Good To Me. We follow with the jammin' instrumental from Ray Parker, Jr. For Those Who Like To Groove.
Remember the well known keyboardist Greg Phillinganes? Behind The Mask was his signature cut from the 80s. We follow that up with Kathy Mathis' Late Night Hour and of course the well-known Kashif's Say Something Love. Will Downing chimes in with In My Dreams from his eponymous LP.
52nd Street's Never Give Up On You is a track from Children Of The Night that was rarely played. This, however, does not hold true for the next track, as the classic from Atlantic Star, When Love Calls, was one of the best- and most played- tracks of 1982. We mellow it even further with Jonathon Butler's Sarah, Sarah and Vesta's You Make Me Want To (Love Again). We then cap it off with a triple play- Force MDs Tender Love, Michael Henderson's You Are My Starship, and the wonderful closer from LTD, Stranger.
